In the Form and Structure class, I completed a laser-cutting project focused on creating a physical object with symbolic representation. For my design, I constructed a heart inspired by the Sacred Heart symbol, incorporating intricate details through laser cutting. Inside the heart, I designed a large-scale Chinese finger trap that ensnares the user's arm, serving as a powerful metaphor. The symbolic meaning behind this piece reflects the emotional vulnerability and potential consequences of opening oneself up to others. Through this project, I explored the intersection of conceptual storytelling and physical fabrication, using form and structure to convey a deeper narrative.
